Magic Cube Rose

I had seen these floating around dA and loved the idea of transforming origami. I had seen one done by ~jazzeria and ~Akiakia. I had asked both if they had a link to the fold and while I cannot remember who finally gave it to me, this was it: [link] There was one or two parts that could have been explained a bit better... or maybe I just need to pay attention better.

The only other thing to note is the use of fairly expensive Washi type paper, i.e. like $6-7 for 8 sheets. It's super awesome and worth the premium; it has a great texture with specks of gold and silver stamped into the paper itself. It's slightly challenging to fold because the large fibers of the paper which give it it's texture don't like to hold a crease. This model isn't a problem for normal paper but because of the looseness in the washi, I had to superglue the tip of the petals together. It doesn't interfere with the transformation though.
